The YANTAR electronic diaphanoscope evaluates vitreousness from a digital camera image. The quality indicator is calculated by software algorithms using dedicated calibration equations.
FEATURES
Software-based vitreousness assessment makes routine analysis fifty times faster than conventional equipment.
Analysis time: 1 minute
Automated vitreousness assessment eliminates error arising from subjective operator judgement.
Specially developed calibration references harmonise vitreousness measurements across laboratories and allow instruments to be combined into a single network.
Interlaboratory vitreousness measurement error for networked instruments does not exceed the specified limit.
Can be operated by personnel with minimal computer experience
All wheat vitreousness results and corresponding grain images are archived. Specialists can print reports for the current or any previous determination.
A stand-alone control module with ready-to-use software is included.

Much of conventional vitreousness analysis time is spent placing grains into individual cassette cells. This step has been automated using software and a cassette without cells. The diaphanoscope software selects 100 grains.
The operator calibrates the instrument using samples of known vitreousness, after which the software evaluates vitreousness automatically.
A separate calibration can be created for each wheat or rice type.
The software removes subjective effects, improves accuracy and significantly reduces analysis time.
GOST R 70629-2023 Wheat. Determination of vitreousness by the optical-computer method.
