BARS flour whiteness meter

The instrument measures the zonal reflectance coefficient of a compacted and smoothed flour surface using a built-in reference.

The BARS laboratory whiteness meter is approved as a measuring instrument type and listed in the State Register under No. 78409-20. All instruments undergo initial verification and are supplied with the corresponding certificate.

APPLICATIONS
Laboratories at milling and baking enterprises and testing laboratories assessing grain and flour quality.

FEATURES

  • Simultaneous parallel whiteness measurements on the sample

The two-channel design, comprising two photometric units and a two-cell cuvette, performs parallel whiteness measurements on one flour sample simultaneously and automatically calculates the mean, substantially reducing analysis time.

  • Minimal human influence on measurements

Compacting flour with a fixed force against the optical windows ensures identical measurement conditions and eliminates subjective effects on the result.

  • Quick and easy cleaning

The convenient layout makes cleaning quick and easy. The measuring unit is at the top, preventing dust accumulation on optical surfaces, while sample residues can be easily wiped away.

  • Stable and reproducible measurement results

Automatic adjustment using the built-in reference ensures long-term stability without manual adjustment. An additional drive positions the reference during operation, preventing mechanical damage or loss.

  • Additional module for flour moisture determination

The additional built-in module determines two key flour processing parameters, whiteness and moisture, in a single measurement.

  • Result archiving

All whiteness results are archived. The operator can view the electronic measurement log.

  • Rapid measurement within seconds

Warm-up takes no more than 30 seconds. Whiteness is determined in 15 seconds.

To determine flour whiteness, fill the 2 cuvette compartments with the flour sample, insert the cuvette and start measurement.
